The River At Music City is first and foremost a church… a sanctuary… a gathering place for whoever wants to come and worship the one true living God. Anyone is welcome among us, whether rich or poor, regardless of ethnic background or religious indoctrination, whether educated or illiterate, young or old, single, married, or divorced.

Our services are designed to flow with whatever Holy Spirit wants to accomplish… not our agendas. We usually begin with praise and worship led by one of our anointed Music Ministry teams whose primary goal is to bring the congregation into an encounter with Christ that is both intimate and refreshing. During this time, one of our dance teams ministers and takes the experience of His
presence to an even deeper place.

As if that’s not enough, Pastor Dony or Pastor Reba continues our services with relevant, life-changing teachings. Whether they’re simply sharing timeless truths from God’s Word and life’s experiences or they’re elaborately weaving His Word into our hearts through dramatic illustrations, their messages are practical and, when applied to our every day routines, can positively change our lives by changing the way we think. Even beyond that, the teachings of this house empower us to go into our marketplaces and impact those around us with the love of Christ.

Nursery and Children’s Ministry are lovingly provided during our regular weekly services. Our Youth Ministry has its own monthly meetings with music, messages, and activities geared for young people. On the first Sunday of every month, we share the Lord’s Supper (communion) as a church family.

Many people ask who Pastors Dony and Reba are submitted to or what denomination they are affiliated with. Pastors are ordained by Bishop David Huskins under the Fellowship of Vineyard Harvester Churches. This fellowship acts as a covering and provides spiritual eldership to them and our church. We are proud to be considered part of this great network of churches in the United States and internationally.

There are countless ways to get involved at The River: whether it’s by helping to meet the needs of one another within the household of faith… or by serving in areas where assistance is needed before, during, and after services… or maybe volunteering for an outreach to our community. You can find fulfillment and enjoy the benefits of being an active part of this body.

The River is a house of prayer. This ministry was birthed in prayer and will be sustained by the consistent, effectual prayers of this people. We have a team of intercessors who are responsible for praying over the needs of the people and any prayer requests we receive through the web site. We have seen the supernatural intervention of God on behalf of His people through this ministry.

In addition to our regular services, we believe in the importance of fellowship and breaking bread together. That’s why we make room in our schedule for gatherings to get together and grow together in love. During the summer, we have church-wide fellowships at local parks and enjoy a meal together and various sporting activities.

At The River, we’re more than just a church; "We are family!"
Music/Arts

MUSIC

Grammy and Dove award winners, Dony and Reba Rambo-McGuire, have pioneered the way for a diverse group of talented and anointed singers and musicians at The River. We embrace virtually every musical style from Bach to rock and strive for excellence as well as the spontaneity of flowing with Holy Spirit.

Our Pastors are also true artisans in the craft of songwriting. Along with many other gifted songwriters in our church family, we are dedicated to taking the message of the house and conveying it through music.

You never know what to expect during praise and worship at The River, but you can always be sure our pursuit leads to a refreshing experience in His presence.

A HEART FOR THE ARTS

The River is a strong supporter of the arts. We provide exceptional training for our children, young people, and adults in dance (from ballet to hip-hop), theater, private voice and piano lessons, creative writing, and songwriting workshops.

“One of our primary goals is to discern, nurture, and celebrate the unique gifts in every person… from the toddlers to the eldest,” says Pastor Dony. “We have learned where there is fear there is no creativity. Our desire is to lovingly help people get beyond their fear and tap into their purpose and passion.”

Children/Youth

SPLASH CLUB KIDS

Here at The River we specialize in children. We don’t believe kids are the church of tomorrow; they are the church of today!

Splash Club Kids is the name we use for our children’s ministry. Our teachers are compassionate, caring, energetic, patient, and always developing innovative techniques to spark learning.

We function from the paradigm, “Children are our greatest treasures to protect, instruct, challenge and inspire by Christ-centered principles and mentoring.” We also are motivated to help them discover… church can be fun!

THE DEEP END YOUTH

The Deep End Youth at The River represent the most passionate, radical and intense generation to ever be born on planet earth. When these young people are asked, “What is your #1 priority in life?” their response is, “We are called to live for one purpose… to touch the heart of God.” Whether that’s demonstrated in their worship, their dance, the study of God’s Word, or just going about their everyday lives, you can witness their #1 priority in action as they follow the example of Christ in their lifestyle.

The Deep End Youth meet once a month for special services and activities geared to that age group.

CrossCurrent

CrossCurrent is the college and career group at The River At Music City. We provide a gathering once a month for anyone between the ages of 18 and 29 years old.

It's been said that one of the biggest transitions we will ever face is going from young adult to adulthood. The goal of CrossCurrent is to provide a place where that journey can be discussed. Open, emotional, spiritual, and funny are all words that have described their times together. If you're willing to go on this journey called life and discover everthing you can be, CrossCurrent just might be the place for you.
